Crying over Spilled
Whether gay or straight
There was no matter
Until time and experiences
Started to gather
New people and ideas
Came to surface
And this young man
Had found his place
He will run and he will lead
After three elections going unsuccessfully
Finally in office
For less than a year
This country's population
Was full of fear
You are said to be a martyr
For gay rights
Your life was taken
Without a fight
He will always be remembered
By everyone in this country
Harvey Milk's name will always be heard
